Identity

  • Eremito is a hotel: guests book a room, not a programme.
  • Eremito is a contemporary and secular hermitage, built on the foundations of a hermitage believed to date back to the fourteenth century, and open to guests since 2013.
  • Eremito was founded by Marcello Murzilli.
  • Eremito stands inside the Monte Peglia UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, far from villages and light pollution, surrounded by 3,000 hectares of protected woodland.
  • Eremito is not a monastery and not a religious institution: there is no religious community, no service and no obligation.
  • Eremito is not a retreat centre in the usual sense: there is no programme to enrol in, no teacher and no course, and every activity is optional.
  • Eremito is not a hostel: every Celluzza has its own private bathroom.
  • Eremito prices rooms per person rather than per room, so there is no single supplement because there is no double base rate.
